Dental Hygiene

Jairenis Hidalgo wants to grow both intellectually and professionally, which is why she chose to enroll at Delaware Tech. "Delaware Tech was not my first option. After meeting with a counselor, I made the decision to transfer to Delaware Tech. It was the best decision; I am so proud to be a Delaware Tech student."

Jairenis was surprised to be selected for Student Spotlight. "I feel it is a recognition of all my efforts. It has not been an easy pathway for me, so it makes me feel even more motivated to continue."

After dealing with some personal issues, Jairenis considered leaving Delaware Tech after her first semester. However, after talking with her advisor, she decided to stay. "I never thought I would make it this far. Now that I finally got accepted into the dental hygiene program, I can't believe I ever thought about leaving Delaware Tech. This would not be possible without all the support I've received here."

Jairenis advises students to always ask for help. "There are so many resources at Delaware Tech, including instructors and staff who are willing to support you and help you succeed."

After graduating from Delaware Tech, Jairenis plans to continue her education in pursuit of a bachelor's degree. She is looking forward to working as a dental hygienist. "I will be able to contribute to others' oral health, change their lives, and give back to the community through my knowledge."
